Denise Roy is The Happy Coconut.  She is an HR professional, with over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, a teacher of HR and Tourism, and a dedicated farm girl and animal lover.

She is currently a Vice President of People and Culture at a software company in Toronto. She is also a part-time professor, teaching Human Resources and Tourism Management students at the college level. Prior to this, Denise led HR transformations at in a wide variety of industries, including Technology, Transportation and Telecom. Denise has also served as the chair of several non-profit organizations, with focuses on the practice of HRM, teaching and the arts.

Denise completed her Human Resources education in 2005 and received her Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation in 2006. She also has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Human Resources Management from York University. 

At home, Denise is a farm girl and animal lover. She has decades of experience caring and sitting for large and small animals, including camelids, sheep, cows, birds, dogs, cats. reptiles and amphibians etc.
